Clove Lodge Cottage The cottage is Victorian, made of stone and adjoins the owners' farmhouse. It has an attractive garden area facing south with table, chairs and a small barbecue, all overlooking a wooded bank, waterfall and stream. There is private parking in front of the cottage. Ground floor: - Large comfortable sitting room with open fire set in original fireplace for which a supply of logs and coal are provided. There is a television and good selection of books, games and plenty of information about the area. A small dining room connects this room to a well-fitted kitchen, tastefully converted from a Coach House. This faces south and has a picture window overlooking the garden, with pleasant eating area. It is well equipped and has a full size electric cooker, fridge and microwave. The bathroom has a three-piece suite and heated towel rail.

First floor:- Two attractive bedrooms sleep four. The main bedroom has a double pine bed. Pine doors reveal a walk-in dressing area. The second smaller bedroom has twin 2ft 9ins beds. Duvets, bed linen and towels are provided. Adjoining the cottage, in an original byre, is a small woodburning sauna and gym for the exclusive use of guests in the cottage. A relaxing end to a long day in the hills or sightseeing. The cottage is supplied with spring water and heating is by storage heaters, park central heating and open fire. Electricity is included in the price and a welcome park is provided. We ask people to refrain from smoking in the cottage. Pets by special arrangement. Evening meals can be arranged and are a particular speciality. Please ask for details.

| Clove Lodge Camping Barn | ||||||
In an idyllic position, 1000ft up in the Northern Pennines at the head of beautiful Baldersdale, Clove Lodge offers shelter and comfort to those walking the Pennine Way. There is no need to make a detour as the camping barn is directly on route almost at the half-way point. Anyone wishing to spend time walking or cycling in the beautiful, unspoilt countryside will find Clove Lodge an attractive base.
The accommodation, in a recently converted barn, is simple and rustic (not much more than a stone tent)having an upper sleeping area with mattresses, and downstairs, seating around a wood-burning stove and basic cooking and dining facilities. Washrooms, including the luxury of a hot shower are provided in an adjacent outbuilding.

For those who are not self catering, a hearty breakfast and farmhouse supper can be had in the converted stables dining room with flag floor, low beams and an open fire. We take a pride in serving home made meals and are happy to cater for special diets.
Booking is recommended. The sleeping area accommodates 10 people - a limited number of sleeping bags are available for hire. Opening hours by arrangement.
